TUSCARORA CLUB at Montauk on September 30, 1962.
This photo was taken during a fan-trip whose consist was (Fairbanks
Morse) locomotive 2024, TUSCARORA CLUB, MANHASSET, COMMACK and
JAMAICA. There were photo stops at the Shinnecock Canal bridge
and Easthampton. The menu included Lobster Newburg. A photo of
the train at Easthampton is on the cover of Stan Fischler's "Long
Island Rail Road (MBI Railroad Color History)".

LIRR heavyweight parlor car 2046
had been named ONTEORA, but the name ONTEORA
became available for assignment to another car after 2046
was retired in October 1968.

It is June 25, 1972 and ONTEORA is the next to last
car in the consist of a westbound train rolling thru Bethpage enroute
from Montauk to Jamaica. A pair of Alco Century 420 locomotives
(215 and 228), operating long hood to long hood, lead nine "Ping
Pong" coaches, parlor ONTEORA and baggage car 7738.
